I studied my nursing in Cape Town at Carinus Nursing College and I guess a part of me always knew that I was meant to be a healer or in the field of healing people. I have had a lot of despair and grief in my life from the death of loved ones and being faced with exceedingly demanding situations and after moving to Gauteng I met an impressive therapist. One day I had a reiki session with her, and it was incredible and the turning point in my life and this is actually where my exposure to holistic healing came about. it was strange because as much as I had been holding back many things that I wanted to say during my session but couldn’t it all just come pouring out during my reiki session, all the raw emotions that I had been carrying around literally for years and that had been causing tons of physically dis-eases. It all came out on that table deep seated sorrow, tears, hurt and it was then that I realised that besides all my years of knowledge and experience with western medicine, there was another way that you could heal, not only your body but more importantly your mind and spirit as well. It was then that I went in search of how I could learn this wonderful Japanese Hands on healing energy treatment modality and found, my amazing Reiki mentor, Angela Whitehouse, at Angels Touch and signed up for my Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki course and boy was it one of the hardest things I had ever done in my life. The course not only taught me that every experience that I had gone through in my life in the past hard as they were happened for a reason.
I understood that, one I survived what I had been through and two it taught me such valuable life lessons for which today I am grateful for and can see had I not gone through these experiences they would not have made me the strong person I am today. I had to go on this journey not only to find myself again spiritually but also to dismiss the past altogether, to forgive myself and people that weren’t in my life anymore but had hurt and inflicted pain on me and take back the control some of them I had not realised still held over me.
Once, I qualified as a Master Reiki Practitioner, I realised that there are many aspects in my life that I should be grateful for. The fact that my Creator divinely though I did not see it at the time saved me, in order to learn and continue to carry on this path of healing and helping others and more importantly I had to be appreciative and grateful for what I presently have in my life and that is a loving, supportive husband and son and an amazing family. And, I am blessed for the opportunities my parents gave me in order to get where I am and to pursue this new chapter of my life. So, exciting times lie ahead with new and exciting treatment modalities that are coming in this new year 2023, already I have been introduced to another amazing toolkit by another wonderful mentor, Penni du Plessis and have become a qualified Access Bars Practitioner, I recently completed my crystal healing course and have become a member f the Energy Healers Organisation.
